Precisely Earns AWS Migration and Modernization Competency Status

Precisely, a global leader in data integrity, has announced its achievement of the AWS Migration and Modernization Competency status for AWS Partners.

This recognition highlights Precisely’s technical expertise and proven success in automating and accelerating customer application migration and modernization using the Precisely Data Integrity Suite. The company also revealed expanded support for the Data Integrity Suite in global AWS regions, now including the UK and Australia.

AWS Migration and Modernization Competency

AWS introduced the Migration and Modernization Competency to help customers easily identify specialized AWS Partners who excel in modernizing applications, whether before or after migrating to AWS. This competency validates partners with a track record of customer success and technical proficiency in migration and modernization tooling.

Precisely’s recognition marks its second AWS Competency, following its achievement of the AWS Data and Analytics Competency in December 2023.

Performance and Expansion of Precisely Data Integrity Suite

"Achieving AWS Migration and Modernization Competency is a significant milestone in our partnership with AWS," said Eric Yau, Chief Operating Officer at Precisely. He further emphasized the importance of data integrity solutions in driving the company’s global expansion, stating, "Precisely remains committed to accelerating and scaling the performance of the Data Integrity Suite to meet the needs of our global customers."

The suite is designed to provide businesses with fast, powerful, and reliable solutions, supporting scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.

AWS and Precisely: Enabling Advanced Analytics and AI

Together, AWS and Precisely are empowering businesses to leverage AWS services for reporting, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML), even utilizing data from mainframe systems. AWS’s Competency Program helps customers identify experienced partners to seamlessly integrate and deploy these solutions.

Precisely Data Integrity Suite: Regional Support

With expanded support in North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia, customers of the Data Integrity Suite can now leverage local AWS data centers for improved performance and compliance with data residency regulations.

The suite, designed as interoperable SaaS services, ensures data accuracy, consistency, and context through features such as Data Integration, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Observability, Geo Addressing, Spatial Analytics, and Data Enrichment.

France Télévisions Partners with Thésée Datacenter for Cloud Transition

France Télévisions, Radio France, France Médias Monde, and TV5 Monde have teamed up with Thésée Datacenter to facilitate their shift to cloud-based solutions.

The migration aims to enhance the resilience of these media organizations against cyber threats, minimize the environmental impact of broadcasting, and expedite the adoption of cloud technologies.

Thésée Datacenter, located in Aubergenville, France, is a Tier IV Uptime Institute Design-certified facility. Inaugurated in July 2021, the center initially comprised one building with 6,000 square meters (64,500 square feet) of floor space across two rooms. The company plans to expand the site to include six data centers. With an operational Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2 or lower, the facility employs free cooling and runs entirely on renewable energy supplied by its partner, EDF. It is also CISPE certified, ensuring data is stored and processed within the European Economic Area.

Frédéric Brochard, Director of Technologies and Information Systems at France Télévisions, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating: "This partnership with Thésée Datacenter exemplifies how France Télévisions, through TAP (Public Audiovisual Technologies), capitalizes on collaborative opportunities. We share a commitment to energy efficiency, ecological transition, and technological excellence."

Antoine Fournier, President of Thésée Datacenter, added: "We are proud to support public audiovisual organizations in transitioning to responsible digital infrastructure. At Thésée, we prioritize combining technological excellence with environmental responsibility."

Since August 2023, France Télévisions has been collaborating with TVU Networks to transition its content production workflows to the cloud, as reported by TVTechnology.

The move mirrors a broader industry trend, with UK broadcasters such as Independent Television News, ITV, and Channel 4 also adopting cloud technologies in 2023. During the 2024 Paris Olympics, cloud computing even surpassed satellites as the primary method for broadcasting coverage.

Zettar, MiTAC, and NVIDIA Redefine Data Transfer with BlueField-3 DPU Innovation

Zettar Inc., in collaboration with MiTAC Computing and NVIDIA, has unveiled a groundbreaking production-ready solution that leverages NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs for high-volume global data operations. Marking a world-first, this solution enables the transfer of up to 500TB of data daily across any distance, all without traditional servers, powered by Zettar’s lightweight zx software. This innovation redefines bulk and streaming data transfer, establishing new standards in scalability and efficiency.

Revolutionary Data Movement with BlueField-3 DPUs

The solution integrates Zettar’s compact zx software—under 40MB in size—directly into NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs, which consume minimal power (75W-150W). This setup supports wire-speed data streaming from high-throughput devices such as genomics sequencers and photon-counting CT scanners. Using Zettar-designed appliances, available through partners like MiTAC Computing, the solution eliminates the need for conventional data transport methods like AWS Snowball and enables efficient data movement across private, hybrid, and public clouds.

Streamlined Data Migration and Unified Integration

Zettar’s solution seamlessly bridges file and object storage systems, managing diverse cloud protocols and APIs with a unified interface. This eliminates the need for multiple cloud-specific tools and resolves inefficiencies caused by HTTPS, latency, and file size restrictions. The result is an essential capability for today’s data-intensive AI and high-performance computing (HPC) systems.

Advanced Scalability and Security

By combining the BlueField-3 DPU’s Arm cores and hardware offloading with Zettar’s zx software, the solution transfers hundreds of terabytes to petabytes of data across any distance with post-quantum cryptographic security. It also transforms standard JBOF (Just a Bunch of Flash) setups into clusters of collaborative data transfer nodes, achieving linear scalability in a compact form factor.

Validation and Use Case Testing

Tests conducted at MiTAC Computing’s lab in Newark, California, used two MiTAC 1U servers equipped with Intel Gen-6 Xeon CPUs and NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs. These servers functioned as NVMe-oF targets, showcasing how DPUs can offload high-speed data transfer from CPUs in traditional servers, offering a simplified and scalable solution for data movement.

Addressing Growing Data Transfer Needs

“With the rise of large language models (LLMs), moving hundreds of terabytes to petabytes of data for training has become a significant challenge,” said Chin Fang, Founder and CEO of Zettar Inc. “Our DPU-based solution, coupled with Zettar-designed appliances, maximizes the utilization and ROI of large-scale AI and HPC infrastructure while reducing energy consumption.”

Rob Davis, NVIDIA’s Vice President of Storage Technology, added, “Moving data from the edge to the core is critical for HPC and enterprise customers. Zettar’s technology, hosted on NVIDIA BlueField DPUs, enables rapid transfer of key datasets distilled by AI applications on GPUs.”

Hiro Suzuki, VP at MiTAC Computing, emphasized the significance of robust hardware in high-volume data transfer. “These groundbreaking results demonstrate the exceptional capabilities of our servers, revolutionizing data movement for AI and HPC applications,” he said.
